The small print

Referral programme terms and conditions

Last updated 12 August 2026. The version published here when you submit a referral is the one that applies.

1. 01

   Who can take part. Open to any current On The Shift customer with an active subscription and no overdue invoices. Our own staff and their immediate families cannot take part.

2. 02

   What counts as a qualifying referral. The referred business must be a UK-registered company delivering security services; the individual named must be a decision-maker or budget holder; the business must not already be a customer, already referred by someone else, or already in an active sales conversation with us; and they must sign a paid subscription within three months of the date you submit the form.

   The reward. For each qualifying referral you receive £50, credited against your own next invoice once the referred company's contract is signed and their first invoice is settled.

4. 04

   The cap. The maximum you can earn is £500 in any rolling twelve-month period. Referrals beyond that are welcome but earn no further reward.

5. 05

   When it is applied. Automatically, on your next invoice after the referred company's first invoice is settled. If the credit exceeds that invoice the balance carries forward. Credits have no cash value and cannot be withdrawn.

6. 06

   If the referred company cancels. If they cancel within 60 days of signing, or their first invoice goes unpaid, the reward is not payable. Where it has already been applied we may recover it from a future credit.

7. 07

   One referrer per company. Where the same business is referred by more than one customer, the reward goes to whoever submitted first. You cannot refer your own business, another business you own or control, or a business under the same group ownership.

8. 08

   Permission and data protection. By submitting a referral you confirm you have that person's permission to pass on their details. We contact them once, say you referred them, and delete their details if they ask. Handled in line with our privacy notice and UK GDPR.

9. 09

   Tax. Any tax arising on the value of a credit is your company's responsibility. Speak to your accountant about how to treat it.

10. 10

    Changing or ending the programme. We may change these terms or withdraw the programme at any time. Referrals submitted before a change are honoured under the terms that applied when you submitted them.

11. 11

    Abuse. We may withhold a reward and remove you from the programme if we reasonably believe a referral was submitted without permission, was fabricated, or was made to game the cap.

12. 12

    Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
